Trusted Leadership and Vision
As Board Chair of Huron Health System and Vice-Chair of the Bluewater Heritage Advisory Committee, I am deeply connected to our community with a strong understanding and appreciation for its history, people and places.
A relentless commitment to community service has shaped my life and career.
I have served as YMCA Board Chair, co-host of The Issue (current affairs show) and in other leadership roles as a director, governor, officer, counsel and founder with numerous charities and not-for-profit organizations - including hospitals, foundations, local capital projects, a municipal social inclusivity committee, a new performing arts center and youth sports leagues.
I was also recognized by my former hometown as its 2009 Citizen of the Year.
It's about teamwork. An effective leader must be attentive, proactive and respectful. It's about doing the right thing, and getting things done. I have always believed what you do for others is more meaningful than what you say.
I will bring all those skills, values and experiences to our local government.
Bluewater is beautiful and breathtaking. Big in geography. Rooted in small-town rural charm. Shaped through the people who live, work and play here.
Together, let's create a bold vision and take real steps to ensure Bluewater is stronger, healthier, and more connected for everyone.
Putting People First
My wife, Ria, and I love Bluewater. Our Hay West home is also a family retreat for our 5 adult children and 4 grandchildren (so far!).
After a long and fulfilling career in corporate law, I retired in 2024 as a partner of the firm that I co-founded, managed and grew. That decision has allowed me to devote more time and energy to our incredible community.
I will bring fresh, forward-thinking leadership to Bluewater Council as your representative for Hay West. The election will be held on October 26, 2026.
I promise to use my voice to amplify and advocate for matters that affect us all.
Those matters include evolving and escalating concerns regarding the shoreline, bluff erosion, water quality and wastewater services, property taxes, affordability, Bluewater's financial sustainability (including the continuing depletion of reserve funds), Bluewater's Official Plan updated in 2026, Bluewater's 2024-2027 Corporate Strategic Plan, infrastructure for current and future needs, environmental and heritage protection (including stewardship of Indigenous lands and culture), local and regional health care.
As a servant-leader, I wholeheartedly believe in the value of inclusive, early dialogue and genuine collaboration with others. That's especially the case when faced with difficult issues or unpopular positions.
There will be hard choices. Navigating budgetary limits and provincial mandates is part of that process. However, the quality of life and well-being of our community will be at the heart of every decision I make as your Councillor.

I live in Hay West and offer new leadership. It's time to chart a thoughtful, clear and neighborhood-focused path for Hay West. I will be guided by listening to your needs, and acting on our priorities.

As your Councillor, I will focus heavily on the municipality spending money wisely to keep our community a safe, prosperous and beautiful place for a very long time.

I will strive to improve communications by the municipality with all residents so that everyone is better informed, with more ways and opportunities to be heard.
